Is it possible to eliminate farm subsidies in the United States?

Eliminating subsidies will not result in a food shortage. Do we have a shortage of the many, many other things that are not subsidized? BTW, have you checked to see who the primary recipients of farm subsidies are? They're not "smaller farmers".
