Mixcraft 4 help!!!! need to know how to make a mix tape with good equalization!?

So i downloaded some songs and i want to make a mixtaope iv done acouple but they sound either too dry or too wet and all around its not very good but the lyrics are i just wanna know how to make it sound professional with like voice. like reverb and equalizing and all that stuff im not a producer so its kinda hard for me to just get up and make a hit song you know? HELP PLEASE!!!!!!
