4ohm single coil car sub to 8ohm house amp?

i have 1 12" mtx sub i want to wire to my jvc house amp. the amp has a sub out option with the single plug and my sub has regular speaker wire so i dont know how to plug it in even and how to get the ohms to equalize so i dont blow sub or amp, help would be very apreciated on this one!!
