Training your first dog. Easier or harder than you expected?

Much easier, but we went through training with an experienced trainer which helped a lot. Also, she was extremely intelligent, wanted to please, and picked things up very quickly. We also went to advanced obedience classes, because she loved going, and it was fun for both of us.
