DS: Using one of those spray collars as a last resort?
Hey guys. I'm stuck on what to do with my BC pup. He lunges at cars as they drive past, and as you can imagine it's dangerous to him, me, and the drivers. I don't want him getting hurt. I've tried so much. I've tried pulling him back, distracting him, stopping, calling him, turning around, nothing works. He still goes after cars. I have found a local trainer who may be able to help, but before I contact them I was wondering if spray collars might help? I know about positive and negative reinforcement, so I know that once a dog gets an unpleasant experience he'll try to avoid what caused it in the future. So when he next lunges for a car, I give him a small spray and he'll learn not to go after cars...Am I right? I've never considered using those collars before, and now it's a last resort so he doesn't get himself killed.
